Athletic Sports Massage

Sports massage is a targeted massage approach that focuses on specific areas of the body that are in need of healing or relief. Sports massage is suited for an athlete or someone who engages in regular physical activity or participate in any sport that requires repetitive movement. An athletic sports massage can help to relieve pain in muscles and joints as well as reduce swelling or jarring. Sports massage can also be used to help the athlete recover from strenuous physical activities and help prepare the body for these intensive activities while helping to keep it in working condition for optimal performance.

A sports massage with me will usually incorporate stretching and injury rehabilitation and injury prevention techniques to target areas of tightness and speed up recovery time for injuries.  A sports massage session may be targeted to a specific area of the body and athlete can be fully clothed!

Deep Tissue Massage

Deep tissue massage is a massage technique that’s mainly used to treat musculoskeletal issues, such as strains and sports injuries. It involves applying sustained pressure using slow, deep strokes to target the inner layers of your muscles and connective tissues. This helps to break up scar tissue that forms following an injury and reduce tension in muscle and tissue.

It may also promote faster healing by increasing blood flow and reducing inflammation.

 

If you have a low pain threshold or are looking for relief of tense muscles, Swedish massage is gentler and may be a better option.

Swedish Massage

Swedish massage is one of the most commonly offered massage techniques. The technique aims to promote relaxation by releasing muscle tension.

Swedish massage is gentler than deep tissue massage and better suited for people interested in relaxation and tension relief.

Athletic Stretch Session

A stretch session is personalized for each client and targets major muscle groups, joints and extremities to improve flexibility, mobility, range of motion and overall loosening tight muscles.  Most of these sessions involve some light conditioning.

Both a 60 minute session and a 30 minute session is offered.

Strength and Conditioning Session

A strength and conditioning session with me is designed to focus on a few things. One, we focus on movement quality and enhancing performance and two we focus on preventing injury. 

 My years and many hours of studying the human body, rehabilitation exercises and knowledge of the human anatomy, allows me to create an amazing tailored session to fit your needs and goals.
